Orthopaedic Physiotherapy

Treatment for joint, muscle and bone problems

Orthopaedic physiotherapy treats problems with joints, muscles, ligaments and bones, whether they come from an injury, everyday strain, arthritis or surgery.

We look for what is causing your pain, treat it, and give you exercises that keep you moving well after you finish treatment.

Conditions we treat

  • Sprains and strains
  • Back and neck pain
  • Osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis
  • Frozen shoulder and shoulder pain
  • Tennis and golfer’s elbow
  • Knee pain and ligament injuries
  • Bursitis and tendon problems
  • Recovery after fractures and joint replacement
  • Posture-related and workplace aches
  • Pelvic floor weakness and incontinence

How we treat

Manual therapy

Joint mobilisation and hands-on techniques to ease pain and stiffness.

Soft tissue work

Deep tissue massage, fascial manipulation and muscle energy techniques.

Exercise therapy

A programme to rebuild strength, flexibility and control.

Pain relief

Electrotherapy, laser, heat and ice where they help.

What your sessions involve

Your first visit includes a detailed assessment: we ask about your problem and your goals, examine how you move, and explain what we find.

Treatment usually starts on the same day. You’ll leave with a plan, an idea of how many sessions you may need, and exercises to do at home. Where it helps, we add sessions in the pool.

Questions about orthopaedic physiotherapy

Do I need a doctor's referral?

No. You can book directly. If you have reports, scans or X-rays, please bring them.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your condition and goals. We’ll give you an estimate after your assessment and review your progress as we go.

Can physiotherapy help me avoid surgery?

For some conditions, a structured programme improves pain and function enough that surgery isn’t needed. For others, surgery is the right choice and physiotherapy helps you recover. We’ll tell you honestly which applies to you.
